I live in Idle and I am called Si.
Notes on real ales I have supped. Mainly.
Tidy tight light ale. Very dry taste but a good sup.
A spot of al fresco lunch on a sunny but wildly windy day accompanied
by this bottled bevvy from those ale revolutionaries at BrewDog. The
beer was as fresh as the breeze, and the flavour was just as strong -
a real KERPOW! Leaning towards an IPA there's a real zest in the
taste, and a gentle spice underlines and then lingers shortly after
the sup. It's a bold, verging on brazen ale. Recommended.
Check me getting all into the royal wedding spirit, Easter spirit, and
summer sun spirit WHILE WATCHING DOCTOR WHO. All in one! Sh'yeah,
right.
Sunny day out up here in deep West Yorkshire, but with a chill in the
breeze - a proper spring 'un! A warming but light lunch is needed: a
simple (proper) ham and cheese sarnie with a jar of Doom Bar (4.3%) is
just the ticket.
The house beer at the Royal Hotel in Dockray up in the Lakes, brewed
by the nearby Tirril brewery. A very smooth ale, with a soft caramel
undertone, it's a very drinkable brew. By the way, black pudding mash
is the future!
Quiet jar on an Ullswater steamer. Nothing beats the feeling of
supping a lovely pint while in the middle of a lake! Maximum
relaxation.
Camping. Making a casserole for tea on a day that has become drearier
weather-wise as the day has gone on. The pitter-pitter-pitter of the
light rain on the tent roof, the chicken is gently sizzling in the
pan, and a glug from the bottle. A real IPA flavour from this ale, a
lovely, strong (5.6%), and sweet taste. Splendid stuff from BrewDog.
Shame the bottle just contains 330ml.
Frikkin' gorgeous pint! Light. Zesty. 4.1%. And Women In Love. Sup.
Sup. Sup. Marvellous.
